Articles
Headwaters Magazine is accepting unpaid submissions of articles that speak to the six areas in which we work for the protection of California’s rivers. These areas are hydropower reform, saving & storing water, restoring flows, flood management, legal & regulatory protections, and inspiring citizen action.
Art
Headwaters is accepting unpaid submissions of visual art, creative writing, and poetry, that are centered around rivers and nature in a more general way.
Photography
Headwaters is seeking unpaid submissions of original photos that capture issues related to California’s rivers. These photos could be of dams, rivers, animals, or plants for example.
Ecology
Headwaters is accepting unpaid submissions of writing that discusses river ecology. These can be factual or creative. You could, for example, submit a ‘profile’ of a riparian animal or plant, or you could write about a personal encounter or write a fictional story about a riparian animal or plant.
